Surf Coast Walk

Let’s start at the very beginning.

Torquay is the official start of the Great Ocean Road and home of Australian surfing. It is the largest town along the Surf Coast Walk with many cafes and restaurants close to the coast providing an ideal meeting point for your walking adventure.

The Surf Coast Walk starts at Point Impossible, five kilometres northeast of Torquay, taking you through windswept dunes to the Torquay promenade with the conveniences of local cafes and shops for a refresh.  The path then heads out to Bells Beach before moving on to Anglesea.  In total, the Surf Coast Walk has 44km of well maintained trail, with many entry and exit points providing bite sized options.

The Torquay section of the Surf Coast Walk is easily broken into three sections.

Point Impossible to Yello Bluff: 5.7km

Yellow Bluff to Torquay Promenade: 1.6km

Point Danger to Bird Rock: 3.3km

Bird Rock to Bells Beach: 3.2km
